Louee Looker: Ted's Apollo 400

Ted is a man who knows what he wants. He runs Louee Enduro and Motocross complex near Mudgee and has been riding dirt bikes since he could walk, but ironically only recently got his road licence. Ted's mate (who owns one of our Nemesis Scramblers) brought him to our shop and he instantly fell in love with our Apollo cafe racer 400 but knew he wanted to make a few small changes. The concept for the customisation was to pare back the look and make a couple of subtle upgrades. The first thing to go was the front fairing. Doing this really cleaned up the front end and allowed that beautifully proportioned fuel tank to be seen. He also decided to keep the tank in its original gun metal grey colour scheme. As the fairing also houses the OEM headlight assembly Ted chose to go with an upgraded 5.75" Purpose Built Moto LED headlight and new mounting brackets. The stock two-into-two headers are chrome and he wanted to tone down the bling so we went for charcoal coloured heat wrap which was complemented by two Cone Engineering stainless steel slip-on mufflers giving the bike a great sound track. The final upgrade was the seat. Ted decided on a tan custom seat which, in combination with the gun metal grey tank, gives the bike a cool vintage edge. So with a few discerning upgrades Ted achieved a very personalised pared back vintage racer that looks as good as it sounds. Nice one Ted!
